Sail away and the first night
Our first dinner we ate at the Manhattan Room, and we were able to get a window table and watch as the ship pulled away from the pier. We enjoyed the meal very much. They served our food promptly; the staff was very friendly and took care of storing my wife’s wheelchair while we ate. This set a pattern that would follow throughout the week. None of our meals ever took more than about 90 minutes from when we were seated until we left the dining room.
This video shows the view from our table at lunch, a tour of the Manhattan Room empty and the view as we were eating dinner as we sailed away from New Orleans.

After dinner, we attende the 9:00 show at the theater. This show was was very well presented and had samples of the different types of entretainment on the ship this week. it is also included a presentaition of the senior oficers on board this week. I will post the video on the “Welcome Aboard Show” in a few days.
We continued to explore the ship and see the options available, and then we were off to our room to get a good night’s sleep. We both slept very well, the slight movement of the ship seems to rock us to sleep.
